There are 37 public playground managed by The Royal Borough of Kingston Council and Glendale Service, these are listed below.
Glendale carry out regular inspections throughout the year.
Playground inspections are carried out to ensure the safety of play areas and equipment, and to comply with safety standards like BS EN 1176. These inspections are typically a multi-tiered process:
Daily inspections: These are checks for basic conditions and recent vandalism.
Monthly inspections: These are more detailed checks for wear and tear and faults carried out by a qualified play inspector.
Annual inspections: These are carried out by an independent, qualified specialist to assess long-term structural problems, compliance with standards, and overall risk.
The general public can also report faults in the Council playgrounds. This can be done by scanning the QR Code displayed on signage installed at the playground or on this website on the Report a Fault page.
