The Glendale Community Development Programme supports residents and community groups across Kingston’s parks and open spaces. We help turn local ideas into well-managed, sustainable projects by connecting communities with park management and providing professional guidance throughout each stage of development.
We provide practical support for new and developing Friends groups, including advice on governance, constitutions, and formal group structures.
Our team works collaboratively with community groups to identify volunteer activities and projects that deliver meaningful and lasting benefits for local parks.
Kingston residents can access our Friends Group Starter Pack — a comprehensive, professionally developed toolkit designed to support community-led park initiatives.
For larger volunteer days or community events, we may be able to offer logistical support. To allow sufficient planning, support requests should be submitted as early as possible.
We encourage groups to help us record and promote the positive impact of volunteering across Kingston’s parks.
Following your event, please email kingston.admin@glendale-services.co.uk with:

If your local park is not currently supported by a community group, Glendale is ready to assist you in establishing one.
